DIET – District Institute of Education & Training

Global Academy of Excellence is an International ISO Certified and American Merit Council Certified Organization which aims at imparting professional education service to every desirable child across the globe, exclusively focusing on the rural community. It adheres to the 21st Century Skill Based & Digital Based Learning Curriculum and feels honored to train the teachers from DIET (District Institute of Education and Training), Salem completely free of cost as a part of its Rural Empowerment Program.  

In Tamil nadu, DIET is a District level Institute offering Teacher Education program to the Elementary Education. It was established in the year 1999and administered by School Education Department of Tamil Nadu through State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Chennai – 6. This Institute is provided with all facilities like EDUSAT, Smart class, Virtual Classrooms, ICT Class room so gastronomy needs of aspiring teacher students as well as teachers in the district.

DIET, Salem in collaboration with Global Academy of Excellence successfully launched and completed a three-month training program for the teachers of DIET between January 2022 and April 2022. The ABACUS training program was initiated and headed by Dr. M Selvam, Principal, DIET in collaboration with Mrs. Prashitha G, CEO/Founder, Global Academy of Excellence. It was started a as a pilot project and 20 teachers from DIET were selected and given training under her supervision and guidance. The Academy has plans to expand this to more schools in the near future and across other districts also.

Everything was carried out very professionally like,

• ‌Followed the International Curriculum for ABACUS with ISO Certification
• ‌Arranging the training sessions and conducting exams through zoom
• ‌Ensured proper communication of session timings, assignments submission and follow ups through WhatsApp
• ‌ABACUS Basics Course Completion Certificate distribution to all the teachers
• ‌Launching 5 levels of Books for ABACUS specifically designed for the rural students
• ‌Framing the curriculum for Abacus to implement in the schools
• Regular Audits conducted to review student performance

and much more.

As a result of this, the students from these schools were invited to unleash their powers in front of dignitaries from StateEducationPolicy( SEP), TamilNaduGovernment High level Commitee Members at Collectorate,Salem. Hon’ble Chief justice from Supreme court and Chairman Thiru Murugesan,UNICEF Member Mrs.Aruna Rathnam and other dignitary members of SEP appreciated the students who show cased the 21st Century learning math skill of Abacus in front of them. Added to it , it was also captured in most of the Local Newspapers.

Based on which we were equally delighted to see the Ripple Effect it has created among several District Education Officers ( DEEO ) & The several visits to different schools by Professor Ramnath From Azim Premji Foundations, Bangalore to address upon the required change in the Rural Curriculum.
